Today is a #SnowDay. The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA) has cancelled all buses & vans. All #ocsb schools remain open. Parents who send their children to school will be responsible for transportation to and from school.

A new way to make partners for math! Students had to pull a 3 digit number and a cube from a bag and matching colours determined pairings. Then students combined their number and their ideas to write a word problem. S’s then rotated to solve another group’s question.

Lots of growth today! It was a challenging #STEM task and the 3’s collaborated and communicated beautifully! Students had to apply what they learned about trusses and triangles to build a stable structure and test it with a load (of Geronimo Stilton books) 😂💪🏼👏🏼

We’ve been learning how to bump up our writing by adding detail and adjectives. To help them understand the power of writing, students listened to a poem called “The Big Big Sea” and then drew what they saw in their minds.

Representing numbers and practicing showing our thinking in an organized way. Students worked in flexible groupings to complete the task. Then in whole group, students took turns to explain their work and the class offered positive feedback. Awesome work today 3’s!
