Indian #Seafarers’ NRI Status at Risk Due to Middle East Crisis, Government Relief Sought!

New Delhi. Due to rising geopolitical tensions and security challenges in the Middle East region, many shipping companies have delayed crew changes and seafarers’ joining schedules. As a result, a large number of Indian seafarers are being forced to remain in India for extended periods while waiting for their joining instructions.
Because of this situation, the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) status of many seafarers is now under threat. According to the Income Tax Act, if a person spends more than the prescribed number of days in India during a financial year, their NRI status may be lost and additional tax liabilities may apply.On this issue, Marine Tanks has written a letter to the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to bring the situation of Indian seafarers to the government’s attention. The letter states that due to the ongoing tensions and security concerns in the Middle East, many seafarers are facing delays in joining vessels, which is completely beyond their control.
The News Editor of Marine Tanks has urged the government through the letter to consider the extraordinary circumstances and provide temporary relief in the calculation of NRI days, special tax exemptions, and government support in the interest of seafarers, so that Indian seafarers are not subjected to unnecessary tax burdens.

एमार गोम���ी ग्रीन्स सेक्टर-7, गोमती नगर विस्तार की 200 एकड़ की यह टाउनशिप एक उदाहरण बन गई है कि किस तरह योजनाओं और वादों के विपरीत जमीनी हकीकत कुछ और होती है। यहां कुल 1546 प्लॉट हैं जिनमें से अभी तक लगभग 300 मकान बने हैं। लेकिन जिन लोगों ने यहां अपना आशियाना बसाया है, वे हर दिन पानी, बिजली, सीवर, सफाई, सुरक्षा और दुर्दशा गोमती नगर विस्तार के सेक्टर-7 स्थित एमार गोमती ग्रीन्स टाउनशिप शहर की सबसे महंगी कालोनियों म��ं से एक है। यह कालोनी करीब 200 एकड़ में विकसित है। बिल्डर ने इसमें 1546 प्लाट बेचे हैं। इसमें से करीब 300 लोग मकान बनाकर रह रहे हैं। कालोनी में करोड़ों से कम का कोई प्लाट नहीं है। लेकिन कालोनी में वह सुविधाएं नहीं मिल पा रही है।

लखनऊ में सुल्तानपुर रोड पर बनी एम्मार ग्रीन टाऊन शिप में करीब दो सौ परिवार रह रहे हैं । आज उन्होंने एम्मार के सीईओ कल्याण चक्रवर्ती को फेसबुक पर करीब 75 मैसेज कर अपना विरोध व ठीक से म��ंटिनेंस ना होने, सड़क, पानी, जलभराव ,सीवर जैसी समस्याओं के समाधान ना होने की शिकायत की ।
एम्मार ग्रीन के निवासियों का कहना है कि लखनऊ आफिस से उनकी परेशानियों को दूर ही
नहीं कर रहा है । यहां के कर्मचारी भी ठीक से बात तक नहीं करते हैं । इस लिए सीधे सीईओ से शिकायत करनी पड़ी है ।
