Arcola Mayor Fred Burton got arrested last night on five felony charges in Fort Bend County. Two counts of illegal voting. Misuse of official information. Tampering with government records. Fraudulently securing document execution.

The 68-year-old leader of a small Texas town now sits in jail after allegedly helping ineligible people vote in local elections he oversaw.

Think about that. The guy in charge of the rules is accused of breaking the ones that matter most.
