🚨🎙️ Gary Neville on West Ham valuing Mateus Fernandes at more than £85m:
“This is what football has become. Other clubs have completely spoiled the transfer market with some of the huge offers they’ve been making in recent years, and now every club thinks their player is worth a fortune. A player with no major senior trophies and limited experience at the highest level being valued at £85 million is difficult for me to understand.
We’re talking about a talented player, no doubt, but when clubs start putting those kinds of prices on players who are still developing, you have to ask where the market is heading. Manchester United have made expensive mistakes before and they cannot afford to repeat them.
Look at recent years, United have spent huge money on players and not always got the return they expected. Recruitment has to be smarter than that.
When I look at Bruno Fernandes, a proven international and one of the best creators in Europe when he arrived, he cost far less. Potential is important, but £85m should be reserved for players who have consistently delivered at the very highest level.”
🚨🎙️| Toni Kross:
🗣️ “If Real Madrid sign Enzo, it would be a very smart move. He has the quality, vision and personality to control games at the highest level. Replacing any player is impossible, but if you’re talking about someone who can carry that responsibility in midfield, Enzo is one of the best options available.”
