We welcome abstracts on CO2, polymers, and biomass conversion, including electro-/thermo-/photocatalysis, operando characterization, and theory/data-guided catalyst design.
Excited to co-organize, with Prof. Zihao Zhang (UTK), ACS GC&E 2026 symposium session “Advanced Catalysis for Renewable Carbon Conversion” in San Antonio (June 15–18, 2026). Abstract deadline: Feb 9, 2026. Conference website: https://t.co/SQ5qPSfWrS
Structure is the secret.
In today’s ACS Nano perspective, Chad Mirkin and a team of scientific leaders explain how carefully engineered nanomedicines could make treatments safer, smarter, and more effective.

It has been a debate about what valence state of Cu is responsible for the rate-determining C-C coupling step. By combining well-defined nanocatalysts with Cu+ as-synthesized, in-operando XAS and computational study, we shed some light on this topic. The Cu+/Cu0 interface rocks!
Our work showing the valence state of Cu sites for CO2 to ethanol conversion has been officially published!

Congratulations to my postdoc advisor, Prof. Yong Wang, for being elected in the National Academy of Engineering!
NAE quoted: For advancing catalyst discovery, design, and reaction engineering for energy and environmental applications.
The National Academy of Engineering is excited to welcome 128 new members and 22 new international members to the NAE Class of 2025!
Congratulations to this incredible group of innovators.

Really enjoyed my visit at GSU. I learnt a lot from Binghe’s research on carbon monoxide as a therapeutic agent (mind-blowing), Giovanni’s research dehydrogenase enzyme and many others. Very modern chemistry buildings and very interesting people.
