According to sources, Dr. Hak-ja Han, 83, underwent shoulder surgery under general anesthesia at approximately 1:00 PM KST today, April 14.
The procedure began earlier than scheduled and concluded at around 5:30 PM.
The surgery was completed successfully and she is currently recovering.
The surgery took place during an ongoing medical hospitalization authorized by Seoul Central District Court.
On March 27, the court granted her a temporary suspension of pre-verdict detention, a legal mechanism allowing defendants with serious medical conditions to receive treatment outside custody.
She has been hospitalized continuously since that ruling.
The authorized hospitalization period is set to expire on April 30.
A 83-year-old woman has just undergone major shoulder surgery under general anesthesia.
When that authorization expires, she faces return to the same detention facility her legal team has described as the source of repeated falls and cardiovascular deterioration.
The question is not complicated.
Is sending a post-surgical patient in her condition back into that environment, one that already damaged her health, something any medical standard would permit?
Welcome to the United States, Prime Minister Takaichi! We pray you have a fruitful meeting with President Trump! We hope the wrongful dissolution of the Family Federation can be addressed and the malicious threat against religious freedom. In the midst of this, the Family Federation leader, 83-year-old Hak-Jan Han Moon, known as the “Mother of Peace”, has been detained for more than half a year without having committed any crime! Please right the wrongs happening in Japan and let this country stand as a shining example protecting the human dignity and rights for all people!

Thank you for covering this @glennbeck. We have been praying for this moment for Pastor Son to finally be released. Praise God! However, the fight is not over yet. Korea is still detaining 82-year-old global Christian leader Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and she also needs to be released immediately!

During the “Youth Voices for Religious Liberty” event in New Jersey, Dr. Michael Nkrumah of Redemption Power International Ministries speaks out against the detainment of 82-year-old world-renowned religious leader, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, and how fighting against faith is equivalent to fighting against humanity.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Trump's Chilling Question Echoes Amid South Korea's Religious Purge
"What's going on in South Korea?" Trump demanded on Truth Social before his August 25 White House summit with President Lee Jae-myung, decrying a "purge or revolution" stifling U.S. ties.
Now, as Lee's administration pushes progressive reforms critics label "pro-communist"—like expanded state oversight of religious groups and pro-China censorship laws—faith leaders are ensnared in what many call political vendettas.
Dr. Hak Ja Han, 82-year-old Unification Church leader, languishes in detention for 86 days without trial. Pastor Son Hyon-bo, conservative Busan church founder, nears 100 days behind bars over alleged election violations, amid claims of suppressing dissent.
Analysts say religions are scapegoats in Lee's push to dismantle conservative networks, fueling global outcry over eroding freedoms in Asia's democracy beacon.

Dr. Han is INNOCENT! RELEASE HER NOW! There is overwhelming evidence for her innocence. What is the point of having these trials if all they do in the end is ignore a fair and just process?

🚨 BREAKING: Witnesses Testify Unification Church Donations to PPP Directed by Yun, Han Unaware
In a Seoul court trial today, three Unification Church affiliates testified that political donations to South Korea's ruling People Power Party (PPP) during the 2022 presidential election were solely orchestrated by former world director Yun Young-ho. They emphasized that church chairwoman Hak Ja Han was not involved, focusing only on spiritual matters, and had no knowledge of the political funding.
The witnesses, including a former Gyeongnam district head who acted as an intermediary, stated they followed Yun's unilateral instructions on collective PPP memberships and split donations to regional offices to evade scrutiny. Judge Woo In-sung questioned Yun's authority, asking if he was effectively the chairman, and warned of perjury risks.
The question remains: "Why is Dr. Hak Ja Han still being held in jail?"
