The most extreme competition of the week has to be @justdustin's diamond mining challenge. No wonder the video landed on This Week in Trending. → https://t.co/yCsibzyye4
@hitsman You can already do this on mobile for a long form video, but not for Shorts as of yet.
I feel many viewers have developed this “hold to fast forward” behaviour and it could impact satisfaction at the least by avoiding dissatisfaction from the friction.
TikTok and IG you can hold the right side of the screen to watch at 2x speed until you release. I instinctively do this when watching YouTube Shorts, but instead of going 2x, the settings list comes up blocking half the screen.
It’s surprisingly annoying and doesn’t allow me to move quickly through drawn out segments, so I just abandon the video.
The viewing / session experience would greatly improve imo

In general (not necessarily applicable in whole to these 3), 𝐈 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞:
- 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞
- “𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚”: look it up to avoid TLDR
- 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 not regurgitating something someone else said… MrBeast said ______ type people; Those people can’t understand the nuances and methodology of how he got to that conclusion, thus will likely apply it incorrectly in practice.
- 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: They’ve experienced and taken accountability for the outcomes of their decisions. It’s easy to tell someone go all in on this idea, concept etc. but would they use the same strategy if it was their money or ass on the line… maybe, but maybe not. Either way it would have forced them to be far more certain about the likelihood outcome.
@YouTubeLiaison How do older videos with newly added multi-language audio tracks (dubbing) get recommended to a new audience?
ex) If I dub my entire catalogue into Spanish, what are the best practices to generate new viewers on existing content with a Spanish audience.
@TeamYouTube I uploaded a video as unlisted and I got a community guidelines strike 😳 - The video was removed and I’ve been banned from uploading for 2 weeks!
I was always told by creator reps to upload as unlisted to check everything before going live…. In 8 years, I’ve never received a strike for a video that was never made public.
I’m assuming / hoping this is a mistake? 😅 please help!
It’s on my 2nd channel, I can’t share the video as it has been removed. https://t.co/yXleCEpvhY
I can provide any details in DMs etc. I don’t care the video was removed, I only care about the strike on the channel.
I appreciate the help
Get serious about learning and be intellectually honest about how good the content you’re creating is.
Set aside time and study like you’re taking a crucial exam, and think about how to implement changes to your next videos - actually write them down.
Here’s a short list of smart people to sift through some of the noise:
@wono_strategy (maybe too high level for a beginner but he is probably my favourite atm if you’re really about it, not for the weak lol)
@mariojoos (extremely clear and actionable advice. I’d start here. He’s essentially giving gold away for free)
@PaddyG96 (incredibly smart and he’s actually in the arena creating unlike many “gurus”)
@theJayAlto (forget analytics, this guy is authentic and will keep you on the right track in creating work you’ll be proud of. Very unique piece of the creator development pie)
@derraleves (he’s taken endless people where you are to the next level, be open minded - often shows very good case studies - best insights are in his lives imo so post notifications on YouTube / Twitter. If your lucky he’ll review your channel directly)
@Richard_YTS (thumbnail research, helps you understand outliers and how to find them)
@ColinandSamir (pinnacle of understanding the landscape / creator economy. They’re on the bleeding edge of what’s next, what’s happening now etc.)
@UnspeakableGame (Bluprint university is developing - he’s not talked about enough imo - go watch his IG reels and you’ll see what’s up)
@hitsman (read his bio…. enough said)
I myself do this.
Be serious, you’re not “shadow banned” and if you can’t get past that thought, start a new channel, show the improved version of you, learn from mistakes and kick ass!
I’m providing @‘s to make it low effort to follow and binge their content idc about ego stroking.
If you’re still reading this lol I’m done ranting, good luck hopefully I see you on my homepage 😅✌️
@YouTubeLiaison The revenue impact if optimized at scale for YouTube would be… 🤯
I’m sure YouTube does this to some degree already, however with creators manual placement optimized perhaps it can be improved further.
@YouTubeLiaison A/B test ad placements? 🤔
Based on their impact on retention, RPM etc.
I know many creators struggle with how many mid roll ads to place within long form videos.
