The Löwenmensch figurine, also known as the Lion Man, made between 35,000 and 41,000 years ago. Measuring 31cm high it was carved from mammoth ivory using flint tools and would have taken 100s of hours. It is the oldest known statue in the world @museum_ulm #ancient #history

An unfinished needlework panel, made in London 1661-1666 and said to have been rescued from a house in Cheapside during the Great Fire of London. The piece of linen has been drawn upon to mark out a design which was begun in colourful silk thread, Faith in the middle #embroidery

A ring found in Birka, Sweden, made in the 9th century. Made from silver and set with a coloured glass stone, it is inscribed with Arabic Kufic writing reading "for/to Allah". It is the only ring found at a Scandinavian archaeological site with Arabic writing #Vikings #history
