they had a green screen, sports cars, some bare minimum choreography, 70s inspired fashion of the mid-2000s, and one of the catchiest, fiercest electropop-rock, new wave songs ever
@waynemp4 This album was too good to flop… I think what killed it from the start were leaks, delays and some weak single choices (imagine we got work as intended as a single in autumn 2008, then lsm towards the end of the year, with the album dropping right at the start of 2009)
@camruined it’s a great song, I’d say, amazing song, but fresh… oh honey, no. It sounds exactly like a 2009 uk pop-R&B-dance track - think Down, Taio Cruz, and others. I’m not saying it has aged like milk or yoghurt but it does sound like a very specific moment in time.
@AloudersReddit had some tacky late 2000s CGI, primark fashion (literally, she had a collection at Primark at the time), some dance moves, and one of the best late 2000s UK pop-R&B songs. Happy 17th bday, Fight For this Love. 😻
@UNDERMYSKlNS The way this song sounds like it could have been a follow up to this song by this forgotten late 2000s girl group 😭
