@philkellr@siyabuilt The entire point of AI to eliminate regular products. And everyone will have custom software.
Companies won’t need slack when they have custom software that fits there enterprise.
@ShearedSheeple@amandamull ChatGPT is a consumer product.
Claude is a consumer product.
Muse is a consumer product.
The post was literally about Claude agents.
You think OP is downloading some VC funded AI wrapper tool built by a 20 year old. Lol
@ShearedSheeple@amandamull For example, as one of the only software products out there what has the meta Muse product over marketed.
And is currently failing to deliver on?
@ShearedSheeple@amandamull Which products are you talking about?
I’m only talking about the Major Frontier labs. I don’t use or even entertain any of the BS wrapper software.
@ShearedSheeple@c0eseph@amandamull Should we have kept the mainframe at the enterprise level
Or continue to iterate on personal computing until I can fit in your hand and is a smart phone?
Abandoning the consumer market because they don’t like the product “yet”.
Is why CEO’s are paid $ to be forward thinking
@ShearedSheeple@c0eseph@amandamull Why the shelve consumer facing products? What business sense would that make?
Over time and generations people will intuitively use these products as they improve.
They will continue to make money on the enterprise level to fund that improvement.
@hungryphenix@MotorcycleBread@pardon_mi I’m sorry but in a world in which we only have 24 hours a day.
Every profession & subject can use time savings. Academia is not the exception.
Academia was slower before the internet(JSTOR) & the computer. It’s really no different.
@hungryphenix@MotorcycleBread@pardon_mi It could be useful for both of you… Preferring to do things inefficiently does not make the tool any less useful. It means you like being inefficient.
There are applicable use cases for everyone. Some people are just extremely resistant, which is okay.
But the tool is useful.
@hungryphenix@MotorcycleBread@pardon_mi Okay so now it’s none of this is usefulness for “me” - natural pivot.
It’s okay some people like to be efficient with time & tools, you don’t have to be lol
But this is the same excuse with every new technology. Why do I need self driving cars, “I enjoy driving in traffic”
@johnwcbragg@HerbertTheOcto@cwarzel You realize how stupid you’re going to sound in 5-10 years? Lol
But I get it, hopefully you’re not resisting AI in your day job as well
@johnwcbragg@HerbertTheOcto@cwarzel Yes I file my taxes online. Financial services for loan applications. Workday for employers.
Yes I work in tech and have a solid understanding of cyber security & guardrails so I’m not particularly concerned with early 2000’s security concerns.
@hungryphenix@MotorcycleBread@pardon_mi Okay so only degrees from top 25 institutions count to you I’m guessing?
https://t.co/NqVI2ayUjh
Here’s my Alma mater, which I graduated from during the AI era btw.
@johnwcbragg@HerbertTheOcto@cwarzel Oh no we build guardrails into technology!
Let me guess when a website asks for your social security # you don’t input it?
@cliff_ohio Correct which extends into “rent” and “car note” convo’s
Hugh cost of living is often the result of a generational shift upwards is lifestyle expectations.
@johnwcbragg@HerbertTheOcto@cwarzel People legitimately felt this way about adding credit cards to the Internet and auto pay at one point realize that? lol
