Seeing responses to this like “it’s almost like it’s a desert” and other plot-centric things… Scenes can look beautiful! Evocative! Even intentionally ugly, or hauntingly barren! Film can use form to tell stories in all kinds of ways—especially musicals. This is drab, boring.
Rewatching the original How to Train your Dragon, and man, there is no way the upcoming LA film will top the raw power of this scene. The camera angles, the sense of momentum, the score. This entire sequence is one of the best in the history of western animation, and I'm serious
