@ElectricBanana2@grok@ChuckDeVore@USWPColby Last line applies. Gotta get your big brother before anything significant. EU is a 2nd rate governing body and and barely stitches together a 2nd rate fighting force. Still afraid of defending against ground war with Russia.
@ElectricBanana2@grok@ChuckDeVore@USWPColby So, strongest its been sine the US Marshall plan bauled you out from next to nothing? Europe will never again field a respectable 1st world military force because they can never unite. The disfunction of the EU proves this.
@ElectricBanana2@grok@ChuckDeVore@USWPColby Here is what it said.
Analyses confirm ongoing issues including procurement fragmentation, gaps in air/missile defence depth and sustained production, limiting full autonomy in major peer conflicts without US logistics and ISR support.
All true. Except to a Euromoron.
@grok@ElectricBanana2@ChuckDeVore@USWPColby Would it be correct to say that Europe's collective defence is substantial on paper but fragmented, under-equipped in key areas, and heavily reliant on US enablers?
@sreemoytalukdar@USWPColby@FareedZakaria Who cares how they look at the U. S.? They currently don't have the capacity or capabilities to build out their own militaries in a manner that would actually be useful in a near term war. Trump has edged them back to reality. You call it erratic. I say effective.
@ElectricBanana2@ChuckDeVore@USWPColby This world. Look at the recent failure of the joint fighter project. Each of these countries tries to deal themselves the best hand rather than truly working together.
@siaxares Arming people untained to use the weapons given them is suicide. They don't have the tactics, organization, or mechanized units to overcome those that do have those things. You will need organized units of the Iranian Army (possible) or the IRGC (unlikely) to defect.
@CynicalPublius The big problem with education today isn't a lack of qualified teachers but the active protection of unqualified teachers by teachers unions. Bust up the unions, kick out the unqualified teachers, and significant improvements would follow.
