Nuance is "the small details that aren't immediately obvious, but which significantly impact the overall understanding of a situation, argument, or piece of art."
I try to hold nuance when I involve myself
But nuance doesn't trend & is often a mental strain
Yet it's necessary
@nextessencevt@uenoguuji@nyamimipaw And the "I don't care" mentality is always absolutely false
Once it happens, people always care
Just some try not to show it
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude Then why is there even a debate?
I would leave a 3 star review on the artist regardless if I had to step up & do their job
As at that point the review is justified
Is the responsibility on the client or the artist? I think both, but more on the artist as they are the seller
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude I'm stepping out. This is going nowhere
I hate when the focus is trying to win the debate versus mutually discussing the topic
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude If a software engineer, another personalized client-based service, messed up even a tiny bit
That's on them, not the client
They are providing the service, they are responsible for the creation of the product. The client is just there to say what design they want
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude The artist also states they are open to changes after, so it is on the client here
My stance both sides are at fault in this
But that's unrelated to a client not being responsible for technical changes as they aren't the professional, regardless of how open anyone is about it
OP I empathize with you, though I kindly suggest you should not send the final delivery first if you haven't shown the client the final artwork through DMs. That is considered "for approval". Vgen also states this in the final delivery box. (1/4)
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude That's a subjective thing
I also think it looks good, yet neither of us are the client
The client can think whatever they want
@RyushiiChan_ Both require unique skills to do good. They aren't comparable, as both writing and art can vary (stick figures & tell-focused writing)
At higher levels is the shape theories, color theories, pose, and the realistic dialogue, show don't tell, consistent world and characters.
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude The client isn't the artist
A client is never obligated to provide tips towards something they aren't an expert in, as they paid someone to do that. Industry professional artists use precautions
If you have errors on your work & do not learn, relying on others, that is on you
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude The rating should have been 3, I agree.
If finalized weeks before you noticed any issues, I would imagine a client won't know it's an option. The commission is closed after all.
Leave it be? So if someone gets a faulty product they should just move on & not leave a review?
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude I've already met an artist who did just that. What do you mean not how it works?
If nobody relied on precautions against human error then rock climbers wouldn't have safety gear, peer review wouldn't exist, etc.
It is exactly how it works.
@Chillipowkun@Thefoxdude Saying it is clear talks past my point that the only person who truly knows when they noticed is the client.
There is a difference between asking to better capture what they are looking for (aka design changes), and asking for the artist to fix the art (the technical side)
I think when it comes to artists, my best experiences have been with people from SEA. Not only peak quality but also absolute good energy and kindness during the whole process.
Also, work ethic! Always messaging when there were delays or if anything happened. Thank you guys.
