Baby you’re not just tired, your nervous system is fried. There’s a reason why you feel so tired so often and it’s not just physical or mental. You’ve been through a lot and even if you’ve healed from most of those things, your nervous system is still recovering. So be patient and gentle with yourself my love

True luxury is never stuff- it's the ability to do what you want, when you want. Time spent living as you wish is the most luxurious thing in the world..
Autistic people may seem quiet at times, even when we have a lot to say. Years of being told we’re too blunt, too direct, inappropriate and more has scarred many of us to the extent that we’re perpetually terrified of saying the wrong thing and many social situations feel risky.
Accepting autistic people doesn’t mean giving us grace whilst expecting us to change ourselves to act more like neurotypical people, it means accepting us as we are - including our autistic facets (even the ones that you may find inconvenient).
Autistic me: *makes a solid prediction based on previous experience and connecting dots*.
Someone: Don’t be so negative!
[My prediction comes to pass]
Someone: *either: acts like I never made a prediction; takes credit for it; or says the eventual outcome was ‘inevitable’*
Someone: “If you didn’t understand you could’ve asked me to explain instead of trying to guess”.
Autistic me: *truly thought I understood, as I felt no confusion about what they said. I now see I processed it differently than they intended, but I couldn’t have known that before*
Neurodivergent life is being over- and under- estimated by a lot of people. You’ll often be seen as a ‘genius’ with ‘unique talents and ways of thinking’ who is ‘full of potential’, but also as an ‘eccentric’ person who is too ‘awkward’, ‘unfocused’ and ‘unlikeable’ to succeed.
Folks don’t understand… we literally watched her doing skit videos, to doing Buzzfeed videos. Now she’s an Emmy award winner. A HISTORIC ONE at that.
Words can’t explain how proud of her I am.
