Lamar D. Catchings, was born November 14, 1998. Lamar was a Loving, Happy, Respectful, & Energetic young man whose life was taken by the system. #WEWONTSTOP💪🏽
This morning @NBCNews picked up on @jeremykohler's coverage of the cruel and preventable death of Lamar Catchings in STLCO jail. I only hope that recognition of this pain and injustice provides some solace to Lamar's mom five days before Christmas. 🙏

Today, Tashonda Troupe, justice reform leader, learned her 20-yr old son, pretrial detainee, sick for a month, unable to walk, was actively prevented from seeking treatment for his highly curable leukemia.
They said he was "[expletive] faking".
He died soon thereafter.

Today, I had to tell the mother of a teenager, who was ignored and died of leukemia in St. Louis Co Jail, that former County Executive Stenger laughed about how "f--ed up" the jail was just months before young Lamar died alone, of cancer, in his cell.

🚨Today, I filed a lawsuit seeking to strike-down STL County's "Secrecy Code". The aberrant secrecy code clearly contradicts state law and perpetuates a regime of secrecy and lack of accountability.
Elected officials should join me in this fight.
