An initiative to amend the City Charter of San Antonio to adopt a justice policy that will save scarce public resources through a comprehensive set of reforms.
Change takes time, & although the results of this election were not what we wanted for Prop A, we remain committed to continuing the fight for policies that positively impact our communities.
A special thanks to @JusticeCharter & all of the incredible coalition organizations!
After votes were tabulated following the 2023 Municipal Election on Saturday, it was clear that Prop A, a community-oriented ballot initiative or the “Justice Charter,” did not have the votes to pass.
We will have to continue fighting for community-determined public safety.
Gratitude to @theloserteacher, @Act4SATX, @TeriCastilloD5, & many others who fought tirelessly for the San Antonio Justice Charter ❤️
This fight is not over. We will continue to push for the justice system that Texas communities want - one that centers care, not criminalization.
Let's stand up for the future of San Antonio! On May 6th, we have the power to create a safe, equitable city where accountability exists, and communities aren't criminalized. Join 37,000 supporters and vote for #PropA. The power is in OUR hands.

San Antonio: 2 million dollars vs. 38,000 + signatures. Police union money vs. democratically adopted public safety. Minor measures towards non-carceral justice vs. a hyperbolic propaganda campaign spreading absurdist fear of social collapse.
