Happy Feast Day of the obtaining of the relics of Saint Mark the Apostle (seen below in the brown tomb). On this day, the Coptic Orthodox obtained the relics of Saint Mark from the Roman Catholics and returned it to its rightful place in Egypt. May His blessings be with us all!

I honestly find it funny when people show up today on the internet thinking they are the ones who will bring down the Coptic Orthodox Church and her sisters from the Orthodox Holy Oriental Churches distort its history, or silence the voice of truth.

We are talking about the Coptic Orthodox Church , a Church with a great and ancient history, one that endured persecution, attempts to break it, and campaigns of distortion over many centuries, and yet remained.

So someone is not going to come today ,a Protestant American, someone who decided to convert to a Byzantine or Greek church and go online attacking the Church through insults, lies, historical distortion, and baseless accusations that have nothing to do with reality, and think that this will somehow silence the voice of truth or damage the image of the Church.

As H.H Pope Shenouda III once said:
“O people, slowly , turn through the pages of history and understand; say to whoever is called great that the Lord of the Copts is greater.”

You need to realize that you do not know whom you are fighting. The Coptic Orthodox Church is not new, and its history will not be changed by a post, a video, or noise on the internet. I hope you gonna find peace and healing away from this lowly approach of spreading lies and rewriting the history .

Down I am sharing a
rare photo published for the first time of His Holiness Pope Shenouda delivering a speech at the Conference of African Churches, which was held at St. Mark’s Cathedral in 1976.

This Conference of African Churches was held in Egypt. Its sessions took place between Cairo and Alexandria under the patronage of Pope Shenouda. The conference issued a statement expressing its aspiration toward the Church of Alexandria as a mother Church and a leading Church for the churches of Africa.

Following the success of the conference and its recommendations, Pope Shenouda III consecrated Anba Antonious Markos as General Bishop for African Affairs, in the African continent Anba Antonios Markos labored and his fruits later extended to many African countries.

At the end I repeat the precious message of Saint Habib Girgis :
“But you, O Orthodox,
who by the grace of the Holy Spirit still remain steadfast in your faith
and preserve the soundness of your belief…

Remember the glory of your Egyptian Church.
Remember the courage and zeal of Athanasius of Alexandria,
and Cyril of Alexandria,
and Dioscorus of Alexandria.

Do not abandon a single letter of the teachings of your true faith, founded upon Holy Scripture and upon what the Church received from the Fathers,
neither adding to it nor taking away a single letter.”
