"...I did say that I need some kind of hobby. And as much as helping out others is the closest thing I really have to one, it's not enough."
Taking a bit of a detour to see if she could pick this game up.
Chihaya had always made it a goal to be friendly to as many people as needed, helping those who need the support, all the things a good person should. Her popularity stemmed from that and her smarts, and that's what she cared about.
If only Anko was still around to hear it, she might have appreciated Chihaya unapologetically defending her. As things were, however, there was only that bully to scoff, and roll her eyes.
"C'monโyou really trying to be friends with that loser? You deserve better than that, ยป
A deep breath from the blonde as she heard the last words of that nobody bully, brushing them off with ease.
"Why do some people have such wicked hearts..."
She muttered to herself before seeing the game store advertising the very game Anko had asked her about.
With that, Chihaya would make her way out of the school, expecting no lesson to be learned for the bully yet at least some kind of bond with a new friend. Hopefully things would go better the next time they talked...
"I've heard of it, just haven't..."
She answered as much as she could before Inoue had rounded the corner. Chihaya had noticed the problems going on but just didn't know how to exactly intervene about it. At least, until now...
"That...that's even more embarrassing!"
She pointed out, cheeks flushedโbut after darting her eyes about, she hesitantly leaned in.
"...Have you heard of the widely acclaimed MMORPG, Princess Heart VII? I'm a huge fan of the entire series, and..."
However, before she could ยป
She'd notice the paper on the floor that Anko seemed to drop, keeping it safe as she put it in her own bag.
"You have no good reason to treat her like that. Plus, your joke was unfunny and it makes you look desperate if you laugh at your own joke like that."
"I gain nothing from bullying you about what you're interested in. It'll be our secret, and I'm very good at keeping secrets. Never let one out from anyone else."
Chihaya had absolutely no reason to ridicule Anko. She was showing true interest in it!
"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear that. If you want to tell me safely, just give it a whisper to my ear."
And with that, she turned and leaned her head in, giving Anko a chance to say it again.
"Huh...?"
As the ridicule never came, Anko slowly tilted her head up, adjusting her glasses. Was Chihaya really...? No, noโthere was no way. At most she was being polite... right?
Her extreme self-consciousness here wasn't, for once, directly about her small chest, but her ยป
"You don't need to feel like you'll be ridiculed for it. I know I won't do it. In fact, I...kind of want to know more about what game you're drawing stuff for."
It seemed like the most popular girl was wanting to actually bond with her over something.
"I'll be honest, they look good. Not professional but still good. Certainly better than me. I'm horrible with art."
She was doing her best to help calm Anko down; it was rather well known that for how smart and popular Chihaya was that she could barely draw anything.
"Y-You saw them...?"
Anko's cheeks only grew redder. Even though Chihaya had admittedly done her no wrong, it wasn't difficult to imagine word spreading over to her much more antagonizing teammatesโmaking fun of her, calling her a child...
That the other figured out they ยป
"They look like something out of a video game, if I had to guess. I do need an actual hobby other than my studies..."
A nervous chuckle now from Chihaya as she scratched the back of her head, admitting to a personal problem of hers.
"Oh, I'm sorry if I scared you. I just noticed all the nice drawings you had in your locker. They were cute."
A soft smile on her face, being genuine about how she felt. Even with her beauty and smarts, she always wanted to get along with others around her.
She kept her locker as neat and tidy as one would expect a girl like her, but the drawings certainly stood out. Sketches of what looked like princesses and dame knights; the style was a little amateurish, but charming.
Anko was too busy fitting her loafers on to really notice ยป
She'd see the open locked from Anko, a curious expression on her face. Unsure of what all of this was about, but still wanting to learn about it.
"This is interesting..."
She'd say aloud while gazing inside of the other's locker.
Chihaya had started to pass by the general area of Anko's locker, her own being at least somewhat nearby. She'd spent her Friday fully studying as she had high expectations that she wanted to meet, finally making her way out of the school with a smile on her face.

As the clock struck 5 PM, and the usual chime rang through the school, students slowly began to pour out of the building.
Anko was among them, fresh from debate club... looking rather worn out as she stomped by her ยป
@FlatIsJustise Trust me, you don't want to take me down, and it's not because I'll beat you.
If Anko isn't the one to defeat me, she's going to be very upset that the one who created this monster wasn't taken down by her.
"Sounds good to me~"
A tone of joy at the thought of some good cooked meat with a friend to calm down with things going the way they have been as of late.
"Good! I know a place not too far from here, if you're into Korean Barbecue~"
As in... a place where you cook meat and other things directly in front of you.
Usually a good place to chat while being mesmerized of a meal you're cooking yourself. Coconut finds it methodic...
"I mean, to some people eating can be a hobby. It just takes being creative about it, like going out to constantly try new things."
At least Chihaya is trying to be somewhat positive about it.
"And yeah, I'm down for something to eat."
"Well, you're doing better than me I suppose. I've never really had hobbies. I just eat and eat."
For someone who eats lots, her figure is mighty impressive. But of course, it's the one thing causing her the most problems.
"Did you maybe want to get something to eat together?"
"Yeah, I'm doing okay. It's...just a lot to deal with, plus I've been picking up other work and trying to find time to get some kind of hobby to calm myself down."
Chihaya answers, taking a deep breath as she knows what this is about.
@JusticeJugs
"Been a while. Are you uh... still doing okay?"
Coconut doesn't even need to specify the topic around this girl, but she does still care about her wellbeing.
Taking a step backwards to create distance from Anko, Chihaya stared at her again.
"I'd much rather stop your plans in a more conventional manner. Just like in the video games we used to play together when we were younger..."
With that, she would turn around and start walking.
"I'm not denying that I caused you to go over the edge, but he began the entire hatred you've built up."
A deep breath as she saw Anko poked at her chest, then seeing her raise her arm.
"As much as I'm sure my superiors would love to hear you get arrested should you hit me..."
"Oh, but of course! Blame it ALL on my father now, why don't you!"
She scoffed indignantly, flicking her hair to the side.
"My father was a horrible person, yesโbut you know better than anyone else that it was not his actions that made me choose this path. He might have ยป
