@marginalutilite And the ending is infuriating on multiple levels. I thought it does a decent job at showing how people with wealth see SWs as expendable and not even human, and the conditions which might lead a survival SW to getting tricked or deceived.

Condoms on the island cost + 2x what they do in the states which is prohibitively expensive. When I buy XLs & give them out on street outreach, ppl run down the block telling their friends to come get some. They are gone in an hour. Don’t blame Latinos for white supremacy puñeta

After last night’s “comedy” I need to educate:

The 🇵🇷 Department of Health only provides 1 size condom to ppl for free & this normal size doesn’t fit most Puerto Ricans who are bigger than average. It isn’t that Latinos don’t use condoms, they don’t use condoms that don’t fit.

And the reason the DOH only provides 1 size condom is bc the US has cut public funding to 🇵🇷 by 60% post hurricane Maria.

Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
