To mitigate elephant poaching for ivory, bans must be put in place. Thanks to the bans being made by some of the world’s largest ivory consumers, the demand has seen great declines. It is important to note that legal markets still exist in parts of the UK, Japan, etc #39canimals

I feel like euthanasia is such a hard thing to do for people. But is there really a good alternative? No-kill shelters still have their own problems and are often unable to accept too many animals. #39canimals

Ivory was used for many common items combs, brush handles, piano keys and pool balls and was in such great demand that the elephant population of 26 million in the 1800s dropped to 10 million in the 1900s, and continued to drop to a mere 600 thousand in 1989. #39canimals

Living a bird-friendly life is easy, and little things could help birds near your area. If you have a dog, leaving some fur outside makes for good nesting material, planting a tree helps house birds, etc.
