Bro opened up his bible before his set. This just fires me up. Legend. You got a new fan in me brother 👊🏽
Psalm 37:20 But the wicked will perish: Though the LORD’s enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.
This song, written at least a year ago by Oliver Anthony went viral seemingly overnight, with the message resonating with so many. Even Billboard wrote an article acknowledging this. But they also noted how this artist is promoted mostly by the right, even though he considers himself a centrist.
Is it because the right is more representative these days of the working class vs the laptop class? Is it because the right has become more anti-establishment because they don't control it?
Even though he's getting so much support amongst certain influencers, I hope he draws in people across the spectrums & not be characterized as "right" and thus contribute to polarization rather than unification.
If you like the song, you like the song. If the message makes sense to you, it makes sense to you. I hope people can see beyond this.
Meanwhile, why do you think this artist has become an "overnight success"? Is it his message, or is there more? Is it luck?
All of you artists “punching down” on @AintGottaDollar for his success are showing your jealousy and narcissism. You DREAM of having that type of success and would gladly accept it with open arms if it were you, yet you’re degrading a fellow artist because it happened to them. 🤨
@sarahshook When you compare success rates and think one is more deserving than the other simply because the amount of “time” put into it, there’s some animosity to that. I could write a song right now, post it, and it could go viral and I could be a super star overnight. Anyone can.
@sarahshook Also, I’m going to check out your music soon, too! I love the grind you put behind your career. I just don’t agree with artists bashing other artists, especially ones who have seen success quicker than others.
@sarahshook To me, it sounds like you know exactly what you want. I honestly wish I found a band or artist that paid me what I’m worth and treated me the way @Jamestaylor treats @DrSteveGadd! James would move shows on HIS tour if Steve wasn’t available. That’s loyalty.
@sarahshook You’re not wrong for wanting success for your hard working comrades, but in the same breath it doesn’t look good to “punch down” on someone for theirs, no matter how much work or lack there-of they put into it.
@sarahshook You and I definitely have that in common. I’m a professional touring drummer and a small business owner. I work damn hard for what little success I’ve achieved but I’m not going to bash people for their quick success when mines been slower. Makes me look like a jealous hater.
@sarahshook Right. So then you can’t factually say that he “literally did nothing” because you don’t know him or the trials he has faced, if any. Stop the jealousy and be happy for the guy. Would you like it if people were bashing you for your “overnight success” if you ever achieved it?
@sarahshook Sure they deserve to blow up, but unfortunately that doesn’t always happen. Who is to say that Oliver didn’t put in the time to get to where he is? Seems like a lot of jealousy floating around.
I think @mattmoran_music is a lunatic because he posted Oliver’s HOME ADDRESS. Why? To perhaps entice someone who doesn’t like Oliver to go to his home and cause him harm? What were the motives behind posting Oliver’s home address? That’s some sick stalker level stuff! Jealousy!
@tejanoaf Probably saved all of his bullshit pay to afford it. I grew up dirt poor and saved up to buy some really nice equipment so it’s possible. Some of y’all are big mad at this guy. It’s not a good look.
