💬 Viewpoint by Canio Martinelli, MD, MSc, Vincenzo Carnevale, PhD, MSc, Alfredo Ercoli, MD, PhD, and Antonio Giordano, MD, PhD: #AI yields higher empathy scores in text assessments but cannot perform clinical examination or patient care. Clinician oversight and presence remain essential in #Medicine.

💬 Viewpoint: Mandatory annual training modules consume millions of physician‑hours each year, yet their largely passive formats may offer limited educational value while contributing to administrative burden and clinician burnout.

7:30 PM Outage Update:
❗IMPORTANT: We are still expecting this to be a multi-day outage event. If you are currently without power, please make preparations or necessary arrangements now for the possibility of being without electricity potentially for days.
------
PROGRESS UPDATE
Currently, approximately 24,000 members remain without power, down from a peak of more than 35,000 earlier today. While this is progress, the damage from the ice storm remains extensive, and this is still expected to be a multi-day restoration event. While there are scattered outages across our whole territory, the heaviest damage is concentrated in the eastern half of our area, specifically in Cheatham, Robertson, and Sumner counties.
If needed, consider reaching out to friends or family who have power, checking on neighbors, or locating a warming shelter in your area. Safety and staying warm are the top priorities during extended outages.
CEMC crews and mutual aid partners are working in difficult and dangerous conditions to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible.

OUTAGE MAP ONLINE
Our Outage Map at https://t.co/BaBt9kutwn is currently back online. We apologize for the trouble with this system throughout the day. Please report outages by calling (800) 987-2362 or online via SmartHub. Our text alert/reporting system is still down at this time. Please do not report outages via social media, as our social media accounts are not tied to our outage system.
------
DOWNED LINES & BROKEN POLES
Fallen tree limbs have resulted in hundreds of instances of downed lines, broken poles, and damaged equipment throughout our area. If you spot downed wires or broken equipment, DO NOT approach it. Always assume it is energized and keep a safe distance, and report it by calling 911 or calling us at (800) 987-2362.
We know this situation is incredibly difficult, especially with cold temperatures and extended outages. Our crews live and work in these same communities, and they will continue restoration efforts until every member has power back.
