Here's another note about this championship team. Former UGA pitcher Greg Appleton was the pitching coach for the Dawgs. Coach Appleton became head coach at D2 Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, in 1998 and just completed his 29th season at CSU. He's the winningest coach in CSU and Peach Belt Conference history. He's led the Cougars to four D2 College World Series, winning the 2002 National Championship. #DamnGoodDawg and #DamnGoodCougar @GregAppleton2 @dayneyoung @bryce_koon
