In 1940, a family from Thatcher, Utah sent five sons to serve in World War II. Within six months, four of them made the ultimate sacrifice. Mrs. Borgstrom, the war’s only four-gold-star mother, turned her grief into service by raising funds for the war effort and inspiring the nation with words of hope. 🇺🇸
Last week, we were honored to have members of the Borgstrom family with us at my State of the State address. They are people of faith, service, and sacrifice — the kind of people we build in Utah.
What makes Utah great? People likes the Borgstoms. A family from Garland who lost four sons: LeRoy, Clyde, Rulon & Rolon, during a six month period in World War II. 😭🇺🇸 @GovCox State of the State 2025
11 years ago, @Parrott7103 was treated for cancer at the Iowa Children's Hospital.
Today, he gets to be a beacon of hope for other kids in his same shoes.
Stay strong and never stop fighting.
The Transportation Interim Committee unanimously supported naming Highway 102 the “Borgstrom Brothers Memorial Highway”. Thanks Rep. Peterson, Sen. Sandall, Mayor Holmgren, @GovCox and others. 🇺🇸 Never forget America’s only ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ family in WWII. 💔
To be clear, the only reaction to a post like this should be absolute gratitude to these men who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and to their families.
This isn’t the post to bash the political side you dislike or disagree with.
The Borgstrom family gave four of their sons to defend our freedom, as the only four-star Gold Star family on record in World War II. 🇺🇸
This weekend we announced upcoming legislation to rename the highway that passes by the old Borgstrom Farm in Thatcher as Borgstrom Brothers Memorial Highway.
May we never forget the sacrifice of those who fight for our freedom.
Remember. 🇺🇸😪. Jeanne Borgstrom Hansen’s father Boyd was the only one of five sons to return from WWII alive. @GovCox, Rep. Peterson, Tremonton Mayor Holmgren announcing push to name the “Borgstrom Brothers Memorial Highway.” w/ family members.
I went to BYU’s homecoming game on Yom Kippur—the least Jewish place in America—and talked to the Jewish quarterback who has led my alma mater’s football team to a miraculous undefeated start. https://t.co/tFkmAIwF0w
Since 1936, the last Sunday in September has been designated as Gold Star Mother’s and Families Day to recognize and honor those who have lost a child while serving our country in the United States Armed Forces.
@mckaycoppins For the life of me, I can’t find this gif, but it’s got me thinking about George Costanza doing the same thing in his office at Yankee Stadium. 😂
