My youngest is deep into Super Mario Galaxy right now so he can be “ready” for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie next year.
Wild to think this game came out when I was just becoming an adult, and now I’m watching my kid discover spinning, star bits, and gravity like they’re new.
There’s something really cool about your kids falling in love with the “old” games and getting a front-row seat to the legacy of Mario across generations.
Any other parents out there introducing their kids to the classics before the new movie hits theaters next year?
Had this conversation with my 8-year-old today:
Me: “We’re going to watch the David movie.”
Him: “I only like exciting movies.”
Me: “He fought Goliath!”
Him: “It only took one stone.”
One stone just isn’t enough action or dramatic enough for little man.
Some things are worth fighting for. Every student in Smith County schools should be allowed to meet in faith-based fellowship just like any other secular club. That’s not just my Christian conviction. It’s a right and freedom we have been granted in this country.
There’s no gray area here. The Constitution is clear. The Supreme Court has been clear. Honor the religious liberty of the students of Smith County.
We don’t fight for easy things. We fight for what’s right. The right thing always deserves a fight. I hope the Smith County Board of Education will do the right thing and let these students express themselves within the law and allow student-led religious groups of all ages to meet.

The sun is up this morning, so that means God’s mercy is fresh this morning. Whatever yesterday held, today is a clean slate. His love didn’t expire overnight. Despite the happenings of yesterday, we still have access to His grace today.
Can’t stop thinking about Charlie Kirk. He was right. Jesus DID defeat death so we can live, and that resurrection hope is everything.
We shouldn’t keep quiet about Jesus. We need to share the hope. That’s exactly what everyone needs to hear right now. If you’ve been putting off a conversation about faith, or thinking about obeying the Gospel, or just wanting to know more about the love of Christ, please reach out to me. Let’s study together.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
The Gospel isn’t complicated. Jesus loves you, died for you, and rose again. That’s the hope Charlie wanted everyone to know. Don’t wait.
I’m shocked and saddened at the news of Charlie Kirk, who has passed away after being shot during one of his college events in Utah. I had the pleasure of meeting him seeing him debate in person. I’ve watched him stand up for conservative values on campus after campus, often facing hostile crowds who want to silence him rather than engage with his ideas. He’s been a warrior for free speech and traditional American values.
This attack is more than just violence against one man. It’s a symptom of where we are as a society. We’ve drifted so far from God’s design for how we should treat one another. Scripture tells us moral confusion increases when biblical authority is rejected (Romans 1:21-24). Society becomes "futile in their thinking." When a culture abandons the foundation of biblical truth, evil rushes in to fill that void.
C.S. Lewis understood this spiritual battle decades ago when he wrote in The Screwtape Letters: “Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one–the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.” That’s exactly what’s happened to our culture. We didn’t wake up one day and suddenly my arrived here. We’ve been sliding down that gentle slope for years, step by step, compromise by compromise.
I’m praying for Charlie’s family. I’m also praying for our nation. We desperately need to return to the One who can heal our divisions and restore our hearts.
@Michele_Tafoya@WUTangKids Appreciate you calling it out for what it is, holding both sides accountable without playing favorites. That’s the kind of fairness we need more of.
