@kirsti_kean@GenXAlumni1@LeeHarris Which is why their government needs to actually listen to the people and take meaningful actions to address their concerns.
If nothing changes you will only see more and more unrest until another flashpoint errupts into a full scale civil war.
@DevinOlsenn I'd prefer it to avoid running over small animals if possible, they just need to get the AI so good that it can predict the trajectory of the animal and cleanly avoid them without slamming on the breaks.
@cameron30560@GriftGod_ Its an established franchise. If fans of GoW weren't expecting or wanting a Laufey game before this was announced, then thats on Santa Monica for failing to set it up.
Additionally, if your new character can't grab people's interest with a 20 min demo, you've fucked up.
@TechOperator Well if you can find 2 aligned unoccupied spots you can pull through the first into the next spot and avoid backing in or out.
Maybe he just drives around all day till he finds those spots.
The core audience is a collective, no individual is representative of the whole.
The reaction to it and Santa Monica's statements since have already revealed that this has created a divide in the fanbase.
If you like it, enjoy it, but don't expect everyone else to see it the same way.
@Jack16_reeves@CheekyMeeple@ALegendaryDrops It probably will sell millions, we'll see, but I would bet, even in doing so, it will still sell millions less than GoW 2018 sold.
And the budgets for these AAA games have ballooned to the point where a few million really isn't the success they are looking for.
1. Its been 4 years since Ragnarok released and AAA development has only slowed since then.
2. Expanding the universe is fine in theory, GoW 2018 did a goid job of that. However, doing so in a direction at least half the audience isn't interested in is a very poor choice. Bad for business, and bad for the health of the franchise.
3. Remakes are nice if done right, but lets not pretend they satisfy the core audience in the same way a proper sequel does.
@Jack16_reeves@CheekyMeeple@ALegendaryDrops Games take 5 years or more to make these days.
They could turn around and start working on a new game with Kratos immediately, but this game has already locked Kratos out of his own franchise for a decade, minimum.
