This Tiler has run a successful Victorian business for decades. Had 15 staff, now has 5. He can’t compete with the 3x pay they get on taxpayer funded sites. The huge tax increases he has copped fund those sites.
He’s a well respected member of a community, volunteers in emergency services, and his level of anger is massive, and mirrors countless other’s fury at what government are doing to private enterprise.
Workcover Victoria is another diabolically run Government department that has increased premiums so quickly and by so much, it’s a further reason employing staff is no longer viable.
If taxpayer funded, insanely well paid, ‘public servants’, continue with these decisions, very soon no private industry will be left in Australia. Who funds the public service then?
Generations of noble hard work demolished by fools & crooks who then award themselves statues.
@TMFScottP I decided this morning it was better that my right hand empty the bag of ground coffee into the sink instead of the jar I was holding in my left hand.
So increasing tax on super to pay for the administration of the compulsory scheme was a tax dodge?
Chris, is there any chance you could just admit that you don’t understand tax, you don’t understand it’s history, you don’t understand tax planning, you don’t understand second order effects of tax policy because you’ve never actually advised a client on these things?
Maybe leave tax to those who do and stick to having opinions for which you have no professional ethical obligations, no professional body and no accountability under which you can be sued. Maybe leave tax advice and opinion for actual experts who do?
@TMFScottP It's useful when you need to blame the modelling when you suspect your policy is going to go off the rails. Some economic modelling gives you the same feeling of pulling the doonah over your head when you think the bang you hear downstairs is a robber entering the house!
