I’m thrilled to be rejoining @RedNinetyFour on Substack. Like my work for https://t.co/gIpOEFdBOJ, I will be focusing on the business side of the @HoustonRockets. My first piece contains my thoughts on @ToyotaCenter and the #Fertitta family’s RE strategy:

@RedNinetyFour That 4th quarter was the worst stretch of Rockets basketball I’ve ever seen. It made the Silas era offense look like prime Spurs basketball. Absolutely atrocious.
@RedNinetyFour Sometimes you just have to see how the cards were dealt and stop throwing good money after bad. It’s demoralizing, but I’m ready for the soft reset and/or going after Giannis. I do not think the two are mutually exclusive. The ones to keep from the young core are Amen and Reed.
@RichOToole Have to go with Little’s and Ninfa’s on Navigation. El Tiempo has expanded too much, and I believe the product has suffered as a result. Little’s just started up brunch 👀
this quote from Carl Jung hits so hard.
“The world is full of people suffering from the effects of their own unlived life. They become bitter, critical, or rigid, not because the world is cruel to them, but because they have betrayed their own inner possibilities. The artist who never makes art becomes cynical about those who do. The lover who never risks loving mocks romance. The thinker who never commits to a philosophy sneers at belief itself. And yet, all of them suffer, because deep down they know: the life they mock is the life they were meant to live.”
@TheCinesthetic Disagree. The first one is far funnier and heartfelt. It has the warmth the subsequent two do not. There are genuinely sweet and tender moments in the original that cannot be matched.
