As U.S. tariffs take aim at Ontario workers, we’re helping more people than ever before train for good-paying jobs.
Ontario is increasing our investment in post-secondary education by $6.4 billion and we’re investing $2.5 billion to help workers and young people learn the practical skills they need to find lasting careers.

Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah provided reflections and strategic direction at the 2026 National Fisheries Indaba, emphasising the fisheries sector as a vital and strategic pillar of the national economy.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah called on the industry to broaden its economic reach and ensure that the wealth generated from Namibia’s marine resources translates into greater value addition, sustainable employment and tangible benefits for the wider population.
She underscored the industry’s responsibility to create sustainable opportunities for Namibian youth and emphasised the importance of landing catches locally to strengthen domestic processing, employment and the fisheries value chain.
Drawing on the momentum created by the National Youth Fund, the President encouraged financial institutions to make capital more accessible to support entrepreneurship and greater economic diversification.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah further called for total honesty, transparency and accountability across Government and the industry, stressing that access to Namibia’s marine resources carries corresponding responsibilities.
Going forward, the President said Government must rigorously assess performance and compliance when allocating fishing quotas, ensuring that access to the country’s marine resources rewards those who demonstrate meaningful contribution to Namibia’s development.

As the African Union Champion for Reparations, I briefed my colleagues at the 21st Extraordinary AU Summit in Luanda on the global momentum behind our quest for reparatory justice.
Following the historic UN General Assembly Resolution (ARES8250), achieved by a coalition of the AU, CARICOM, and the African Diaspora, which declared the enslavement of Africans the gravest crime against humanity, Ghana asked the vital question: What next?
In June this year, we convened the Next Steps Conference in Accra. We expanded our mandate to include indentured labour as a historical injustice. We also established a High-Level Advisory Council on Reparatory Justice, a Global Experts Panel on the Restitution of Cultural Heritage, and a Global Legal Panel on Reparatory Justice.
A topic once considered taboo is now reshaping global diplomacy. We see the return of looted African artefacts, legislative repeals like France’s Code Noir, and historic acknowledgements and commitments from global institutions.
As a follow-up, Ghana will host a high-level side event during the 81st UN General Assembly Session this September to receive progress reports from our established panels. I have invited all Heads of State to join us as we continue to lead the charge for justice, restitution, and dignity for Africa and people of African descent worldwide.
