Bencher election voting starts tomorrow.
For those (like me) who oppose Stop SOP / Full Stop and everything they stand for, the 2019 election is often discussed as a worst case scenario. But the reality is that 2023 could be worse.
A thread… 🧵
🚨I wrote about “brain fog”—one of the most common & disabling symptoms of long COVID (and many other pre-pandemic conditions), and one of the most misunderstood.
Here’s what brain fog actually is, and what it’s like to live with it. 1/

"...Cisco has updated its security products with intelligence gained from observing the bad actor’s techniques...and is sharing further technical details via a Talos blog to help cyber defenders learn from our observations." /end
It's rare for the victim org of a #cybersecurity breach to openly share technical details (e.g. legal or reputational reasons). In a notable act of transparency, Cisco's threat intelligence team published a detailed writeup of a potential compromise. 🧵 /1

The @ABoipc published a report this week analyzing nearly 2,000 Alberta #databreach reports over the past decade. Some interesting insights in breach trends: /1

"...Major jurisdictions including the European Union and California have overhauled their privacy laws in recent years, pushing back against unchecked data collection and threatening significant fines against bad actors." /end
And a quote that nicely captures the criticism for #PIPEDA: "That law is now more than two decades old, and is widely criticized as poorly equipped to deal with the volume, precision or range of data harvesting that has come to underpin whole segments of the modern economy..." /4
After obtaining my CIPP/C and noticing a general lack of user-created guidance for the exam, I became determined to create a public resource for others interested in pursuing this credential. Hoping that people find this useful! #CIPPC
