I truly believe in Ben Rice. Kid is a staple and should be the everyday first baseman. He controls the zone extremely well for a rookie and doesn’t give up power for contact. This is sustainable too he should be an .800+ OPS guy consistently. #Yankees#MLB
Not sure if that solves the problem still… how do you determine who gets access to tix? Lottery? Honestly this is prob when tracking cookies is good, my best idea is to have MSG build a formula for most “loyal” fans and have them get first access
Unfortunately there’s only so many seats for millions of fans. There should just be more Knicks-sanctioned watch parties around NYC
@RJCE420@pgfig001@KnicksMuse Had to double take the original comment lmao
STEPH CASTLE? The NCAA tourney winner with UConn who went 4th overall and won ROTY? That Steph castle? Yeah he can have some confidence lmao
Then there’s no home/away advantage as much
Also it’s really hard to see from the nosebleeds
Most importantly the depth perception fucks with players. It’s why the NCAA final four is lower-scoring every year, the larger stadium fucks with the players real bad. See UConn vs Butler 2011
@pgfig001@KnicksMuse Lol you must REALLY not watch college basketball
The guy speaking, Steph Castle, won the NCAA tourney in his one college year. Scored 15 in the championship game
So yeah he’s a winner
What a phenomenal answer from Mike Brown.
Totally impressed with all #Knicks players for buying in too. This is a big league with big money and big personalities - it’s hard to swallow your pride, accept something isn’t working, and adapt
This is also why I say every year the #NBA season doesn’t start until Christmas. Teams gotta figure shit out
@JLEdwardsIII Amazing article. Always helps knowing there are others struggling in exactly the same way - never alone.
Anxiety is like a wave, it takes a while to dissipate it never goes away all at once. You chip away a little bit over time and eventually you start noticing differences
Pretty sure he’s a free agent, but I’d absolutely love Shamet back. Dude is still on the right side of 30, probably pretty cheap, and has good (and increasing) chemistry with the team. Highly effective bench player who should get utilized more - yes please Leon #Knicks #NewYorkForever
True but tbh I think we are overestimating the wealthy
$10K is still a lot of money! Like I really don’t know if a casual fan/wealthy person is willing to shell out that type of money for a sports event that you have to get to quite early due to traffic/security
Totally get what you are saying tho - like there should be some sort of loyalty program where the biggest/longest tenured fans can get in and make the place as loud as possible
I’ve been thinking about ticket prices for the #Knicks finals
And I truly just don’t think there’s a solution. There’s 10M fans that want access to 20k seats. It’s simply supply x demand, a once-in-a-quarter-century event for a hugely popular team. It comes down to what people are willing to pay - if tix were only a couple grand I’d buy them in a heartbeat!
#AlwaysKnicks #NBA #Spurs
Josh Hart wishes tickets to Finals games were more reasonably priced:
"A lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time unfortunately aren't able to get into the building. Cheapest ticket $7K, $8K... that's ridiculous."
But how would that work?
The market is always going to determine price. MSG isn’t just gonna give away tickets, so the lottery would still likely price the average fan out. If they sold at “face value” it’d probably still be a $2k ticket
It literally just comes down to what are you willing to pay? I disagree with ur second sentence, if you are willing to pay $10k you probably are the right person to be in that venue lol
My original Mike Brown hiring take
“But ultimately I wanted an offensive-minded coach who will use the bench, has playoff success, and can handle the NY media” ✅✅✅✅
B+ grade has obviously been retroactively bumped to an A+. Still hilarious to me people watched Thibs play 0 bench minutes/scramble in the final couple playoff games, and then actively criticized upgrading away from him

My thoughts on the #Knicks Mike Brown hiring:
I’m fine with it, a bit disappointed but overall not displeased.
I personally was hoping for a young, potentially even first-time head coach. But ultimately I wanted an offensive-minded coach who will use the bench, has playoff success, and can handle the NY media, and Brown checks those boxes.
I’m a De’Aaron Fox fan so I watched that Kings season in 2023 where Brown deservedly won COTY - he was awesome. I’m going to choose to believe the Kings’ awful front office pretty much broke him in 2024, and he couldn’t fix that awful talent he was supplied with.
So I’m happy, as long as we take the next step. And last note - if this means getting LeBron cause of his history with Brown, then it’s an A+ and makes all the sense in the world. Right now it’s a B+.

Was thinking the same thing. They banked on Brunson’s ceiling being higher than any team thought, including the Mavs. They made a few trades where it was us giving up multiple assets for 1 player (IQ + RJ for OG, RJ + Ju for KAT, Cam Reddish + Pick for Hart) which screams “find guys with higher ceilings”
It’s like fantasy football, the team that trades away 2 for 1 is usually trying to up their team ceiling
Great article
Trying to take my bias out, I truly understand the no-timeout decision. The Champagnie Twolves shot was as wide open a look as you’re gonna get at the end of the game, process > results. Same thing here - you trust your NBA finals players, and if Wemby does make the correct decision there’s a good chance for a Steph Castle drive to the rim on a weak defender like Brunson, up 2 with like 5 seconds. I’d take that over a set Knicks defense with better defenders. And OT def favors the Knicks, both games are pretty similar Spurs win early, get tired, and Knicks win late
Remember when a little more than a year ago, the #Knicks were heavily criticized for firing their head coach that got them to their first ECF in 25 years? “Grass isn’t always greener” yada yada?
Sometimes it’s simply about using your eyes. If you watched last year’s team and thought “yeah they’ve hit their ceiling with this talent” then you might as well call yourself Tony Brothers cause you are blind as a bat
And now a year later we are up 2-0 in the #NBA finals with our offensive-minded head coach and our 1A small guard. Funny how people just say shit
Really bad minutes from Mitchell Robinson there, and overall bad decision making from Mike Brown
Don’t understand putting Mitch in right when the bonus is about to hit. And then defensively Mitch was not good - can’t overplay Wemby from the 3 point line like that I’d rather him shoot
Couple rough calls from the refs too - the non-existent backcourt violation was really bad considering the ref was right there
