We have gone too far in both directions. Nobody is advocating for players to not show emotion. I want our guys fired up if they hit a go ahead home run or make a big strikeout etc. BUT celebrate with your team. Get fired up with your guys. Don’t showboat right at the other team.

@Beasley__F Obviously we didn’t “sit around”. We practiced & did intrasquads . Just like all the other rural schools did. We did ask to play earlier. They said no.

The FHSAA does not care about the rural schools. First they make you sit around and wait 14 days to play your regional semifinals, then we have weather issues, & can only play on Friday-Sunday for both rounds. THEN the state semifinal is 3-4 days from the regional final.

@Beasley__F It’s insane for anyone in baseball to have 14 days between games and then to have the final four scheduled where you may not have all your pitching available because of when the regional final ended.

So if you played Saturday or Sunday in your regional final? You don’t have all your arms available for the state semifinals or possibly even the state championship!? It’s insane. I LOVE the best of 3 series BUT don’t forget about the rural schools when it comes to scheduling.

Hurston Waldrep had some elbow discomfort this week. A MRI showed loose bodies, but the ligament seemed fine. He will see Dr. Meister this week. The Braves don’t know how long he might be out.

INF Ha-Seong Kim sustained a hand injury while in Korea and underwent surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right middle finger. The procedure was performed by Dr. Gary Lourie today in Atlanta, and the expected recovery time is 4-5 months.
