MD State Senator (Dist. 5), Husband, Father, football lover, follower of Jesus, "Real job" - advertising Auth: Friends of Justin Ready, Rebecca A. Ready, Treas.
The answer for improving Maryland’s economy and helping struggling families and job creators may not be “easy” but they are simple - it’s high taxes and fees, crushing regulations and lack of oversight and accountability for our tax dollars. Governor Moore and the Annapolis Democratic supermajority are at sea on this. It’s why we need change from Governor to General Assembly in November 2026. @MDSenateGOP
MD ratepayers endured the highest spike in energy costs in the US last year at 89%. We have the highest energy costs of any PJM state and have the highest utility costs in the US. MDDEMS imposed $1.6B in tax increases as wages in MD stagnate and unemployment in MD increases.
The messier Platner turns out to be, the more I hope he wins—not because I like or respect him more, but because Susan Collins, one of the most evil people in public life, deserves to be humiliated as much as possible.
From @baltimoresun - “@mdsenategop Minority Leader @SenatorHershey and Minority Whip Justin Ready criticized the decision to replace Moody’s with Kroll Bond Rating Agency. “Maryland Democrats just fired Moody’s because they didn’t like what Moody’s had to say,” the Republican lawmakers said. “The problems Moody’s identified don’t disappear because you found a friendlier rating agency.” #mdpolitics
It was great to be at South Carroll High School on Thursday to participate in their Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2026. I was honored to hand out Senatorial Scholarships to four more outstanding students and Delegate Tomlinson and I posed with “The Cavalier”. Once again, I’m thankful to have the opportunity to administer scholarship funds and wish all the graduates the best! #Dist5 #CarrollCountyMD #FrederickCountyMD
Quote really also applies to his and their whole attitude - the Trust Act as well fits with this. Just absolutely do not care about law abiding citizens more than they care about compassion for criminals. And I’m not a “lock everyone away forever” guy but we are so far to the other extreme it’s dangerous.
When choice is between protecting and defending safety of law abiding citizens or making things easier on people who commit crimes, Governor Moore and Maryland Democratic supermajority in the General Assembly make the wrong choice again and again.
@gogreen2026 If you’re caught with an illegal firearm I don’t want you released like a lot of other juvenile petty crime. That’s one example of crimes this bill waves down to juvenile automatically.
@AlexAndBooks_ If you replace “speech” with “scrolling on phone” this is no different than average person’s day now! (Oh wait…) - he was an amazing intellect and had boundless energy and curiousity.
It was my honor to give Senatorial scholarships to five outstanding Francis Scott Key HS students this morning. General Assembly members are given the opportunity to award a certain amount of MHEC scholarship funds to students in their districts each year. It can be for college, graduate and trade related education. I want to thank Mrs. Emily Van Horn who coordinates my scholarship fund and the committee we have to select students based on a number of factors from academics to need to community involvement and /or working to support their education. Congratulations to all our graduates! 🎓🇺🇸 #Dist5 #CarrollCountyMD #FrederickCountyMD
@FAIRImmigration Julie Giordano, Wicomico County Executive, took issue with Gov. Wes Moore pointing out implementation concerns with the Community Trust Act, but not vetoing the legislation.
"He failed me, he failed my county," she said. "When it needs to be reworked, it needs to be vetoed."
