Ten years ago my family went through hell: they were informed by the Troopers that I was dead. I'm not though, I promise! It was a crazy experience for my parents, brothers, extended family. Traumatic doesn't begin to describe what they experienced

One day I'll tell the whole story of everything. The media circus and political hubub taught me a lot. @DermotMCole wrote the initial story with compassion and is a true gentleman of a journalist
@walton_bronwyn @Climatologist49 I completely understand! Too much sun is a lot. For me, I love both the periods of rain and sun. Lately, walking my daughter to daycare in a t shirt has been our happy place. Soon, our happy place will involve puddles too though
@fishpeopleplace Hi! I oversee about 20 technicians and half dozen biologists and sit on hiring often. Coming out of a masters, we'd like: strong field skills (boat driving?), R & git coding, leadership/supervisory exp, basic stock assess, kindness/ability to work in a team.
@mattbuxton I think that he'll let it pass without signing. The threat to veto is likely posturing to coerce schools into further budget cuts without him actually cutting it. He gets some cuts & lets leg allies look like they're solving crisis
@datamanAK I agree but I do feel like a not insubstantial number of (urban) state legislators would see that as a reason to defund ed.
Not trying to discredit the idea because I've wondered about this often
1977 "Sitka--1830" woodcut prints by Dale DeArmond (1914-2006). That's Baranof Castle on Castle Hill. It burned down in 1894. #alaskahistory#alaska#sitka#sitkahistory
@PDXinAK So tiny and precious. We have a 5 month old daughter.
I'm sure that you are doing great, hope that you can give yourself some grace during the first week. It can be tough! All the best
@eagleeye049@jsamdrolet I can't comment specifically for DOT but in other state agencies, that's a massive problem. Loss of institutional knowledge has huge economic impacts!
