“Be”
Today I continue my living verse with one of first Words in the verse! “Be”!!!
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, ‘be’ steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the LORD.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
“To Be or not to Be, that is the question that I ask of thee”
The Bible tells us to “Be” steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD! So the question is is will you and I “Be” doing that?
Present tense “Be”! Will I continually “Be” doing this?
Years ago, when studying this passage, GOD put it on my heart to try and live it out for one day. To “Be” living it out for a full day. So I surrendered to his call that day. Although I did not do it perfectly, it impacted me for life! And that is how it became my living verse. And remains my living verse till today.
So Today I simply ask will you:
“Be”
Love Pastor Chuck
:—)
“LORD JESUS, will YOU help me “Be” steadfast, immovable, always abounding in YOUR work, Today”
“He is on the path of life who heeds instruction, But he who ignores reproof goes astray.” - Proverbs 10:17
Instruction & correction are a part of life. You are being directed by many things in this world, listen to the direction of the Lord.
“Not in vain”
The next Part of my living verse found in 1 Corinthians 15:58 is, “knowing that your work is not in vain in the LORD”.
The Bible tells us in many places that we are to seek HIM above all else. And to seek HIM 1st. And to seek HIM always. And to seek HIM everywhere.
So when you go to the store, you are seeking how to serve HIM there. At the gas station; at the restaurant; at church; at work; at…(you fill it in).
KNOWING that everything you do and everywhere you go is for HIM! That is why it is not in vain. You walk around with a kingdom mindset.
If you have this mindset, you will live out “knowing that your work is not in vain in the LORD”. And it will bring peace and joy as you go.
So Today do ALL for HIM so that your life is:
“Not in vain”

:—)
“LORD, help me continually live with a kingdom mindset”
“Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding.” - Proverbs 9:6
Choice. Life or death. Holiness or sin. Blessing or cursing. YOU choose your path today. God’s will is your good. What’s yours?
“The Work of the LORD”
Continuing from last week, my living verse is:
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in ‘the Work Of the LORD,’ knowing your labor is never in vain, in the LORD.”
We now move to the phrase, ‘the Work of the LORD’! So, What is ‘the Work of the LORD’?
“JESUS answered and said to them, “This is the work of GOD, that you believe in HIM whom HE has sent.””
John 6:29
It is simply to believe on JESUS! And JESUS is the WORD (John 1:14), so simply believe HIS WORD!
To believe is to Trust, to accept as real, to regard as fact, to have firm conviction towards.
So according to my living verse we are to be:
Steadfast
Immovable
Always Abounding
“In the Work (believing on the ONE HE sent) of the LORD”
Simply put, “we are to be constantly growing in our belief in HIM, never moving away from that belief in HIM”
Today, I hope you are growing in:
“The Work of the LORD”

:—)
“LORD, may my belief in YOU grow stronger each day YOU give me”
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
Trouble without, triumph within. He doesn’t always change your predicament. He changes your perspective. Trust JESUS
“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” - John 15:11
The Lord gave you His word that He may give you His JOY! Let His promises fill you today with purpose & power through faith, fellowship, and following JESUS!
“I will give thanks to the Lord according to His righteousness And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.” - Psalms 7:17
Gratitude & praise are not just singular actions given at certain times. They are a lifestyle of worship at all times.
“Always Abounding”
“Be steadfast, immovable, ‘Always Abounding’ in the work of the LORD knowing your work is not in vain in the LORD”
1 Corinthians 15:58
Always meaning:
- At any time, in any event!
- At all times
Abounding meaning:
- Ample
- Plenty
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the LORD and not for people,”
Colossians 3:23
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether I am at Church, Walmart, the gas station, or where ever I’m at, I am to be always abounding for HIM!
Whether vacation, working, playing or whatever I am doing, I am to be always abounding for HIM!
My living verse at the top tells me to be “Always Abounding” and it means what it says!!!!
So Today my focus is to be:
“Always Abounding”
Love Pastor Chuck
:—)
“LORD, I praise YOU for YOU are worth me, as long as I live on this earth, Always Abounding for YOU”
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” - John 14:6
No other way, no other truth, no other life. It’s not controversial nor complicated. It’s clear a as day. Access to the Father is only through the Son, JESUS!
“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:35
Christian, your greatest witness for Christ is love; not as the world loves, but as Jesus loves… in truth, with grace, for good.
“Immovable”
“Be steadfast, ‘immovable’, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing your work is not in vain, in the LORD”
1 Corinthians 15:58
The second Word I would like to look at in my living verse is “immovable”!
“Immovable” means:
- Impossible to move
- Incapable of movement
- Unyielding in principle, purpose, or adherence
- Incapable of being moved emotionally
“The LORD is my ROCK” the Bible says in Psalm 18:2. It also says “For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, the sons of Jacob, have not come to an end.”
Malachi 3:6
How does one remain immovable?
Same as yesterday’s post. By staying attached to THE ROCK of our salvation. Through daily time with HIM. Making time to daily read and learn more and more about this eternal GOD we serve, building a strong foundation.
In a world that is constantly changing, we need to remain:
“Immovable”
Love Pastor Chuck
:—)
“LORD, thank YOU for being my ROCK and changing not”
“Steadfast”
My living verse is 1st Corinthians 15:58.
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing your work is not in vain, in the LORD”
Steadfast means:
- Firmly loyal
- Constant
- Unswerving
- Faithful
- Fixed
- Unchanging
The picture idea here in this verse is like giant boulders in a stream of rapids holding strong against the flow of the River.
So my living verse (daily life) starts by telling me to be “steadfast”. How?
By attaching myself daily to the ONE (JESUS) who is steadfast! Through quiet time and fellowship with HIM.
To me, life in CHRIST is simple. Today, be:
“Steadfast”
Love Pastor Chuck
:—)
“LORD, thank YOU for being steadfast in my daily life”
“In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.” - Psalms 4:8
There is no greater peace than under the protection of God, doing the will of God. Even in the midst of chaos, there is contentment.
“Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.” - Psalms 3:8
Believer, this is where we find our security. Salvation is not ours to lose. It belongs to the Lord, and He loses nothing (John 6:39)!
“In 20 days”
LORD willing I will lead a team of 24 precious souls on mission to Iquitos, Peru. In 20 days we are scheduled to leave.
But that gives me 20 days to make a difference where I am at now. Although GOD has sent me on many, many overseas mission trip, I consider my life on mission everyday, wherever I am at. Especially at home here in Washburn.
Yesterday as I was baptizing a wonderful lady at BFF Church, I thought about all the souls GOD has given the privilege to baptize all over the world. HE truly is amazing.
Saturday, I went to BFF to support a young lady going on this upcoming trip and I thought of all the folks who have and still support our work in the ministry. HE loves a cheerful giver.
In 20 days a lot can happen HERE right where I find myself, because I recognize I’m always on mission for JESUS!
Take these next 20 days and build a habit of telling 1 precious soul the Gospel right where you are each day. And watch GOD do great things in your life as you live on mission everyday.
“but you will receive power when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you; and you shall be MY witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8…
A lot can happen:
“In 20 days”
Love Pastor Chuck
:—)
“LORD, help me do my best to share YOUR Gospel the next 20 days here and then where you send me to next also”
“Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ”-“standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;” - Philippians 1:27
Worthy conduct is found in unified faith with others for the gospel’s sake.
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.’” - John 11:25-26
Death is not a defeat for the believer, it is merely a doorway! Hope in Jesus who holds the only key to Heaven.
“WAYDWJ”
Have you ever wanted to start a new trend? You know like WWJD “What Would JESUS Do?”
I hear a lot of “I go to so and so Church” when asking folks about their salvation.
I also hear and see on social media a lot about folk’s politics.
I also pay attention to how the world mostly ignores, (even) a lot of Churches, the call to “go and make disciples” or even talk about our LORD in public.
So, I’d like to start a new trend called
“WAYDWJ”.
What
Are
You
Doing
With
JESUS?
Not what did you do in your past with JESUS. Not what are you planning to do with JESUS tomorrow.
But “WAYDWJ” right now; TODAY; at this moment in your life?
I am thankful you’ve done things with HIM in your past. I am grateful you’ve have plans with HIM in your future. But WAYDWJ right now?
So:
“WAYDWJ?”

“LORD, help me each moment live for YOU!”
“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.” - Psalms 149:1
God’s praise is meant to be public! You are an influence on those around you. Don’t be one of complaint/complacency, but one of good/glory!
