Coincidentally, I made that transition a few years ago. (X5M to R1S). The Rivian is a cool SUV, though I’m returning back to BMW once the iX5 is in production.
A few tips which made my 1st EV life easier;
1. Tesla Charging Membership
2. Jack Pucks (For Vehicle Service)
3. Alignments twice a year at Rivian
4. Tire Rotations every 7,500 miles.
Outside of the delivery issues the Rivian has been pretty reliable. A 12v replacement eariler this year though nothing major. It’s a cool vehicle.
@Teslaconomics After taking a Waymo in SF, I thought this is the only way I’ll travel. In reality, self-drive is just in thd early stages of development. Still prefer the human driver to get you there quickly. Waymo, Cybercabs etc are coming though drivers will still be needed.
@niccruzpatane Tesla’s aren’t luxury. Range Rover on the other hand is luxurious. Buyers in this range either want to drive, or can option to be driven.
@smartertrader This is your moment Sam! Happy to witness this happening! I remember on calls you talked about banking 5M during the early 2000’s. This is just epic!

You can only shift a portion of the cost and hide for soo long. Custom bonds are where a portion of this number is hiding.
