Just because itโs a half day doesnโt mean we can do STEAM! Their challenge is 20 min to build a package for 2 candy canes out of construction paper and tape that will protect them from getting broken. @GMASteam
In design lab, 2nd grade used inspiration from animals to solve human problems! A narwhal inspired fishing pole, a tiger tooth battering ram, and a cheetah inspired shoe to help run faster! Super impressed with these students! @GMASteam
We had a table against table math competition today to practice measurement word problems! A lot of really great teamwork and overcoming frustrations. And of course some really great math! @GMASteam
I donโt think itโs a coincidence that our class had an amazing day after starting the morning meeting and reading with our HABIT dog Knox! @GMASteam
I love when we can add some fun into phonics! 2nd graders competed in teams matching up syllables to create words! Both teams did awesome! #funphonics@GMASteam
Our class has a daily STEAM center and todayโs group made a whole holiday performance (inspired by Beaumontโs Christmas musical)! There was a Christmas tree and seats with guests. I love watching these kids be creative! @GMASteam
Thank you so much to T. Scott Jones from Banks and Jones Law Firm for coming to our class to read to us. We loved the book and the treats he brought with him!
One of the ways we celebrated Native American Heritage Month was to read books by Native American authors! When the class asked to try fry bread after reading the book, I had to put my chef hat on.
Working out with @jess_sims and she said this to keep the class motivated. It resonated with me so much I made a reminder to share it with my 2nd graders tomorrow morning!
Our class had one goal in mind this morning: finish our phonics and reading lessons (while following expectations!) so we could paint pumpkins. They crushed it AND their pumpkin masterpieces! @GMASteam
