Baby #2 turned three weeks old today
Here's what I've learned
1. Second delivery was much easier than first
2. Babies can come out of the womb, not cry, lift their head and look around
3. Having in-laws come and stay for a few weeks to help with older child and housework is invaluable
4. Sleep with two is twice as interrupted
5. Sunning a newborn prevents jaundice confirmed
6. Having a based pediatrician is 🔑
7. Hire a private chef to come to you for your anniversary while wife is in recovery. Trust me.
Can think of more probably
My 15-year-old son almost got stuck in Salt Lake City by himself overnight due to a flight cancellation, and they didn’t have a flight to CVG the following day. The only person I really knew in SLC was @Eric_Conn. I didn’t want my son living in an airport by himself for 36 hours. So, I asked if Eric could pick him up and host him for the evening, and without any hesitation he said, “Sure, I’ve got an extra room.” It was a relief. I was thankful for Eric stepping up at a moment's notice. I hope God allows me to return the kindness in the future. In the end, we were able to get Caed on a redeye back home, and it wasn’t necessary.
I truly think a lot of Christians I know, whether to my right or left or who differ in this way or that, would have had my back in this situation, and vice versa. I can think of more than a few people who others would consider "on the fringe" and "boomer-ish normies." It’s why I have become more reluctant to burn things down online.
I don’t want to diminish the significance of some of the issues currently being debated. Many of them need to be sussed out. But acts of kindness like this do affect my willingness to be very patient and my drive to pray for and work toward greater unity of Christians in the truth of God’s Word.
10k a week is nowhere near enough.
There well over 15 million illegals in America.
At 10k people a week it would take about 29 years to deport them all.
This number needs to be drastically increased.
A Christian nation would truly transcend race
Which is why the demise of the anti-identitarian right is a tragedy
But that’s the price you pay for hypocrisy
For their faults the Michael Bay Transformers movies had a level of spectacle you just simply don't see in the majority of blockbusters now.
Like look at this it holds up so unbelievably well in an era where every other popcorn movie ends with people fighting in a grey void.
Texas’ largest statue is a monkey god and we currently have no significant monuments on the national scale.
Instead of 6 billion for updating blue state infrastructure like union station, we should spend 150 million to build a world class monument to the pioneering spirit of Texas and America.
The monument is a bronze woman viewed primarily from the north with her gaze to the west. She’s carrying the flag at her chest and a leather satchel with a bible visible from the ground.
At her feet is a crushed snake, a half buried plow, a swallow and an acorn encircled by bluebonnets.
On the pedestal are four bronze reliefs.
Separately a 26k sf welcome and events center.
Failing to see why Patriot Front wearing masks is problematic. Charlie Kirk was assassinated for having mainstream conservative opinions. The same people who celebrated his murder are now upset at people who want to protect their identity?
