🕊️ Remembering Ian Richard Olson.

After battling lymphoma for 10 long years, Ian finally received the news he had fought his entire childhood to hear — he was cancer free. He was only 18 years old and had his whole life ahead of him.

Just one week later, on December 21, 2018, Ian was shot in the back of the head during a robbery in Portland. His killer, Jeremiah Hannon, was 15 years old and reportedly admitted he did it simply because he “felt like it.”

Ian dreamed of the life so many take for granted — getting married, having a family, building a future. That future was stolen from him forever.

Now, the person who murdered him is scheduled to walk free before turning 25.

At some point, society has to stop pretending someone is “too young to understand” when they are fully capable of pulling a trigger and taking an innocent life.

Never forget Ian Olson. 🙏

Heartbreaking.

13-month-old baby boy Preston Davey was placed for adoption with a same-sex couple in Grimsargh. Within months, he was allegedly raped and killed.

Jamie Varley (36) faces murder, multiple sexual assaults on the child, cruelty, and extreme porn charges. His partner John McGowan-Fazakerley (31) also charged. Both plead not guilty. 

The trial starts this month in Preston Crown Court.

How did social services think this was a safe home for a vulnerable baby?

Children's needs must always come before adult desires. 

Every child deserves a mother and father.

Dead people don’t get better.

After suffering cardiac arrest due to postoperative bleeding, Jahi McMath was declared “brain dead.” She met and exceeded the requirements of the American Academy of Neurology brain death guideline. One of the three doctors who declared her brain dead was the head of child neurology at Stanford.

But her parents didn’t think she was dead: Jahi was warm, had vital signs, and was moving at times Reportedly, when her parents questioned the brain death diagnosis, her doctor pounded his fist on the table: “What don’t you understand? She’s dead, dead, dead!”

Thanks to the help of Dr. Paul Byrne, Jahi was transferred to New Jersey, the only US state with a religious exemption to brain death, where she was statutorily resurrected. After receiving proper care, Jahi improved.

Two neurologists evaluated her at her mother’s apartment and found that she no longer met the criteria for brain death. She regained brain waves on her EEG, responded properly to commands, and was diagnosed as being in a minimally conscious state.

Dead people don’t get better. Brain death is not death, it’s neurologic injury. Vulnerable, neurologically injured people should not be falsely declared dead and used as organ donors.
