BE ADVISED - A Fire Column may be visible from Jacksonville above the smoke inversion from a strategic burn-out operation at the Hendrix Fire 9 miles West of Ashland. This smoke column may be visible from Jacksonville, but "NOT A THREAT" to Jacksonville.
Evacuations on Sterling Creek near Buncom have been reduced to "Level One" (Be Ready) and folks in that area are allowed to return home staying prepared if conditions were to change.

The Jacksonville Fire Department is partnering with Access for the Annual Holiday Food Drive. Firefighters are seeking donation of nonperishable food items to be brought to the fire station and will be distributed by ACCESS to hungry people in Jackson County.
