Do Nigerians ever pause to ask themselves why their country is producing university graduates who require further development programme? A compulsory one at that. Why are your graduates unready to be unleashed on your economy right from the day of their final exam?
The older generation turned this country upside down and are still fighting for the right to dismantle what is left.
We need to stop respecting the morons among them.
NYSC was designed in the 1970s for “unity” - that’s why people are posted to other states
No longer feasible today at all
All of a sudden, you people want to make it Unemployment intervention because a government has failed to trigger industrial and private sector growth 🤣
Anybody that has sat through SAED and still believes in the ability of the Nigerian state to actually pass any sort of meaningful knowledge at scale that will actually make a difference in your life via NYSC…
Well, I await your realisation
"Entrepreneurial skills."
We are truly cooked.
The government can't create an environment that stimulates the economy & generates jobs, so it's going all in on pushing people into the informal service sector instead.
Congratulations to all involved on your 1% growth rate.
I have a theory that Nigerian elders are covertly hellbent on destroying the futures of the younger generation with irrelevancies by just promoting activity without productivity.
Because tell me how you're 60+ years old and your contribution to the Nation is to say young graduates should come and learn to code in 6 weeks NYSC camp.
What's really wrong with that generation?
NYSC is the perfect cop-out for a government avoiding its responsibilities. You deploy young graduates to public establishments for jobs they aren’t trained for, while private firms use them as a source of cheap labor. Too easy.
You're not young, you can't know what works better for us.
We've seen your generation's "I know better" ideas before and how braindead they usually are.

Zidane: "That night in Paris"
Iniesta: "That night in Johannesburg"
Ronaldo Nazario: "That night in Korea"
Cristiano Ronaldo:
Surface level change every time
digital, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills 😂😂😂😂
For a person that just spent 4-5 years in university and couldn’t build the skills - they will build it in 6 weeks
MIRACLE WORKERS OKAY
You see this Dr that is on twitter with youths and has been part of the discourse around the plight of youths, he gets an opportunity to put forward reforms that would change the trajectory of the average Nigerian graduate, then he goes on with the usual old heads to put forth a very stupid reform. This is the Nigerian story.
Who the hell in their right minds seeing everything happening in this country pushed forward to make NYSC 6 weeks? Have you seen the trauma people even come out with because of the rot that has gone on in the program?
What skills do you think is valuable to teach that can be taught in 6 weeks in this dispensation? Or are we no longer thinking?
