Disputed late fee charges levied unjustly!
I attempted the payment for my RBL credit card (ending in 2374) well within the mandatory 3-day RBI grace window, but the transaction failed due to a technical error on 9th Sep.
Under RBI customer protection norms, cardholders cannot be penalized with late fees or negative credit reporting for payment gateway/technical glitches during grace periods. Requesting an immediate reversal of charges.

Unfair late fee/finance charges levied despite payment initiated on time!
Attempted payment of ₹1,60,000 / ₹1,16,800 well within the 3-day RBI grace period, but it failed due to gateway/technical issues on the app.
As per RBI guidelines, genuine technical failures during the grace window must not penalize the cardholder or impact CIBIL. Kindly reverse all late charges and interest immediately.

@YESBANK
i am writing to register a formal complaint and strongly dispute the charges levied on my YES BANK Credit Card account ending in 6534.
1. Summary of Facts:
- As per my statement dated 19/08/2026, multiple payments totaling Rs. 3,25,120.00 were duly credited towards the card balance.
- Notably, substantial payments were cleared directly on and before the due date (including payments on 07/08/2026 and 08/08/2026).
- Furthermore, an additional payment of Rs. 1,60,000.00 was successfully completed on 10th September 2026 at 11:28 PM.
- In addition, utility and service transaction fees (e.g., Ref: 0999999980804021769233 for Rs. 980.00 + GST) and associated finance charges have been levied improperly despite timely settlement efforts.
2. Violation of Regulatory Directives (RBI Master Direction):
Under the Reserve Bank of India (Credit Card and Debit Card - Issuance and Conduct) Directions:
- A mandatory grace period of at least three (3) days beyond the payment due date is provided before penal interest or late payment charges can be levied or reported adversely to credit bureaus.
- The bank is obligated to ensure fair and transparent assessment of charges without penalizing cardholders who make timely settlements or face technical processing bottlenecks.
3. Escalation Warning & Demands:
I hereby demand the following immediate actions:
1. Immediate and unconditional reversal of all finance charges, deferred charges, utility transaction surcharges, and associated GST erroneously billed to my account.
2. Complete assurance that no adverse credit reporting (CIBIL / Experian / CRIF) has been or will be submitted for this period.
3. Updated statement reflecting the corrected ledger balance.
TAKE NOTICE:
If these disputed charges are not reversed within 7 working days of receipt of this notice, I will escalate this matter without further correspondence to the Banking Ombudsman (RBI Ombudsman) under the Reserve Bank - Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021, and file a petition before the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for unfair trade practice and deficiency of service, holding YES BANK liable for damages and costs.

@RBL@RBI
FINAL LEGAL NOTICE & WARNING: Erroneous Levy of Finance Charges & Violation of RBI Grace Period Norms - RBL Credit Card Ending in 2374
Dear Sir / Madam,
Account & Card Details:
- Cardholder Name: Bhandaru Jyothi
- RBL Credit Card Number: Ending in 2374
- Statement Date: 17-09-2026
- Payment Due Date: 07-09-2026
- Previous Total Due: Rs. 1,03,019.00
This is a formal warning and escalation notice regarding the illegal and arbitrary levy of financial charges, deferred charges, and GST on my credit card account.
1. STATEMENT OF FACTS & PROOF OF TIMELY SETTLEMENT:
- On 07-09-2026 (Due Date), I made a payment of Rs. 97,000.00 via BBPS, successfully credited to my card account on the same day.
- For the balance amount of Rs. 6,019.00, I attempted payment on 09-09-2026 at 10:30 AM. Due to a technical error on the BBPS payment gateway, the transaction failed.
- I immediately re-initiated the payment, and the remaining Rs. 6,019.00 was successfully processed and credited on 10-09-2026.
- The entire bill amount of Rs. 1,03,019.00 was fully cleared by 10-09-2026.
2. CONTRAVENTION OF RBI REGULATIONS (MASTER DIRECTION - CREDIT CARD ISSUANCE & CONDUCT):
As per Clause 9(b)(iii) / Master Directions issued by the Reserve Bank of India:
- Card-issuers shall not levy any penal interest, late payment fees, or other charges on a credit card account unless the account remains unpaid for more than three (3) days past the due date.
- Reporting of overdue status to Credit Information Companies (CIBIL, Experian, etc.) is strictly prohibited prior to the completion of this statutory 3-day grace period.
In my case, the due date was 07-09-2026. The 3-day grace period expired at the end of 10-09-2026. Since the full balance was credited on 10-09-2026, my account was never overdue under RBI guidelines.
Despite this, RBL Bank has wrongfully levied:
- Deferred Finance Charges: Rs. 1,544.00
- Finance Charges: Rs. 5,816.00
- Goods & Services Tax (GST): Rs. 1,324.80
Total Erroneous Charges: Rs. 8,684.80
3. FORMAL NOTICE & DEMAND:
Take notice that you are hereby required to:
1. Immediately and unconditionally reverse all finance charges, deferred finance charges, and GST totaling Rs. 8,684.80.
2. Ensure that no adverse reporting has been made to RBI-registered Credit Information Companies (CIBIL/Experian/CRIF/Equifax). If any negative reporting occurred, submit an immediate correction.
3. Issue an amended statement confirming a zero-charge balance for this cycle.
WARNING OF ESCALATION:
Please treat this as a final notice. If the reversal is not reflected in my account within 48 hours of receipt of this email, I will initiate the following legal actions without further intimation:
- File a formal complaint before the Reserve Bank of India Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021, for clear violation of RBI credit card guidelines.
- File a petition before the National/District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission claiming damages for deficiency of service, unfair trade practices, and mental harassment.
I expect immediate confirmation of the charge reversal.
Sincerely,
Bhandaru Jyothi

Disputed Charges:
Deferred Finance Charges: ₹1,544.00
Finance Charges: ₹5,816.00
GST: ₹1,324.80
Grounds: ₹97,000 was paid on the due date (7th Sep), and the remaining ₹6,019 was attempted on 9th Sep (failed due to technical error) and credited on 10th Sep, well within the RBI-mandated 3-day grace period.
