in may 2026, the grammys updated bts's biography to add the title "asian pop artist". this confirms the category was created entirely to keep bts away from the main categories, because bts is the only asian but GLOBAL artist who has been crushing it solo in the us market for years and standing on the same level as grammy darlings.
