Really happy that this paper is out. Work we did with @atree_org in the Banni grasslands, where we co-created a #systemdynamics#simulation model of the social-ecological dynamics using a participatory process involving the community.
Through participatory system dynamics modeling, researchers working with the Maldhari community were able to explore various management scenarios (e.g., full restoration, partial restoration and climate extremes). The model runs reveal that there is no single solution towards restoring the land and improving income for all because the system is a highly coupled human and natural system, and changing one element has cascading consequences on other elements.
Scenarios of different land management decisions pertaining to #invasivespecies in context of #climatechange were simulated, highlighting both intended and #unintendedconsequences. The model was taken back to the community in the form of a visually rich mobile app available in

Brazil are playing just now. That means there’s no better time to talk about the Brazilian midfielder who moved to Italy so that he could “read Gramsci in the original language and study the history of the workers' movement."
A thread about Sócrates. 🧵
#ClimateEmergency | The climate crisis cannot be thought of solely as a mitigation problem or an adaptation issue—neither can its solutions. Here's why we must understand the interplay between the two.

In which @Mihir53 and I reflect on our work @DESTA_Research to write about how and why climate change mitigation and adaptation can sometimes to be at odds with each other. And why it is imperative that we look at these not as separated goals, but in ways that enhance each other.
