A 15-year-old girl from Omuhoro village in Epupa Constituency of the Kunene Region says she scales about ten kilometres to Otjijandjasemo to do her laundry using an ancient practise of using clay instead of soap.
Kandji Kazu says her family is not well off, and instead of buying soap, they opt to buy food instead.
She says the clay is as good as using soap, as it leaves her clothes and blankets clean.
Kazu and many others from surrounding villages travel regularly to the natural hot spring to do laundry.
