Raghu was rescued from the forest of Melagiris, under Hosur Forest Division. Bomman had came down to Aiyur (Denkanikottai) and stayed for a while to get accustomed with the abandoned elephant calf before transporting him to the Mudhumalai camp.

I'm happy to announce that the GoTN has notified 'Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary' as the 17th Wildlife Sanctuary in TN. This significant step along with the TN Green Climate Company's missions will go a long way in conserving the rich biodiversity of our State.

A new wildlife sanctuary viz. Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary shall be notified by GOTN covering an area of about 478 sq. km in Hosur. It is an important habitat for elephants & is home to 35 species of mammals, 238 species of birds. Rs 15 Cr allocated for initial work. #TNassembly
