@JeffreyAllers An alternative term could be "destructive interaction". Because I think what is considered mean (at least by myself) is not that you are denying other players certain goods or actions (like in a worker placement game), but rather destroying what other players have built.
@TableTopSauce I"m quite good at "Revive", "Santa Maria", "Trails of Tucana" and "Bad Company", and very good at "Escape: Curse of the Temple". But I am nowhere near the top players in any of my games, as I rarely play them after they've been published.
Over the next days I will give a short introduction to each of the four new tribes that comes with "Revive: Call of the Abyss", release at #SPIEL23 .

2/2: All gates automatically switch when Ostarius hibernates, and Ostarius also has a machine that lets them flip a gate at will. One of Ostarius' technologies let them count range from their closed gates, meaning they can secure sole access to closed off parts of the board.
1/2: First out is Ostarius. Their tribe ability lets you place a gate tile on the board. Each gate covers 3 spaces and harvests whatever terrains are covered. Each gate can be either OPEN or CLOSED, and this lets Ostarius block off parts of the gameboard.
"The Scyphoz harbor vast knowledge and wisdom. We will settle near their lakes to learn from them. We will act out their will to honor them. Complete the journeys they prepare for us. We will serve and be gifted.
That is the call from the abyss.“
