@impmja Thanks! These models are 1–3 years old – just now getting around to rendering and sheet layouts. Sometimes I tweak things. Render in KeyShot, textures are custom nodes.
I'm never going to recommend this software to anyone - I know it's not very popular, but it really comes down to personal preference. I've just never liked classic packages like Max, Maya, Blender... But SketchUp? I picked it up in about two weeks, and I've loved it ever since. It's as intuitive as it gets.
I've never had any issues with exporting for game development either. The modelers I've worked with always took the files exported from SketchUp without any problems - Maya, Blender, you name it. At the end of the day, any tool is just a matter of habit. I chose SketchUp.
About GLB - I don't export directly to that format myself. I usually go with FBX or OBJ, and then my colleagues handle the rest in their tools. But as far as I know, GLB export plugins for SketchUp do exist.
Over 17 years, I've worked almost exclusively in this 3D package. The only thing I never really cracked was organic stuff - people, natural objects, etc. But anything with hard surface geometry? No problem. It's probably just habit at this point.
I'm a 2D artist by background, and I've always found traditional 3D software pretty frustrating. SketchUp, though, reminds me of game editors - straightforward and intuitive. Makes 3D modeling actually enjoyable. That's why I stuck with it.
