📎 Mind-blowing Japanese life hack: You can watch free terrestrial digital TV (地デジ / chidigi) with just one paperclip!
In Japan, many TVs have an antenna input on the back (usually the coaxial F-type connector for UHF/VHF signals). If you’re in a strong signal area (close to broadcast towers), simply straighten a regular paperclip and gently insert one end into the center hole of the antenna port. It acts as a super-basic monopole antenna!
It won’t work everywhere — signal strength matters a lot — but in good reception spots, it can actually pull in clear local channels without any real antenna. Super handy for testing TVs or emergency viewing!
(The Japanese warning in the photo is just reminding you not to force anything in and that the BS/CS satellite ports need proper power.)
Who else is trying this? 😂
