Rowena Ravenclaw was the one who created the powerful magical field that concealed Hogwarts from Muggles.

This protection was essential in keeping Hogwarts secret from its earliest years. While students and professors could enter and leave normally, Muggles who arrived in the area were shown a completely different image of the place.

In this way, Rowena left her legacy not only through the house that bore her name and her pursuit of knowledge, but also through what was believed to have been one of the school's most important protections: an enchantment that hid Hogwarts from Muggles and made a castle filled with magic appear to be nothing more than a collection of abandoned ruins.
